Woodwork, posts, beams etc. should be treated regularly with pigmented wood preservative, that protects the wood from drying out while maintaining the natural wood colors. It is important that the wood preservation is "diffusion-open", so that the wood can continue to breathe. Furthermore, you should dig free the posts (20-30 cm) and treat with preservatives. Remember that the wood must be clean and dry before applying the new preservative.

Yearly
The interval of maintenance depends on use, wear and vandalism, and must obviously be estimated from the local conditions. This means by intensive use, much vandalism and excessive wear, intervals should be put down on a daily basis if necessary.
If there are defects or damages, and it is unsafe, the product must be dismantled. Repair or replace product before reassembly.
